Our Firm hires attorneys who are interested in trials, arbitrations and appeals. We interview candidates with excellent academic credentials, including recent law school graduates, judicial clerks, and laterals. We have a limited summer clerkship program and we visit with law students who want to work in Houston. We try to hire outstanding lawyers who will also contribute to our collegial atmosphere.

Salaries and annual bonuses at Smyser Kaplan & Veselka are competitive with or better than large Houston firms. We try to reward extra effort and achievement. In our discretion, we occasionally award special bonuses to employees when we obtain extraordinary fees for our work.
